A few weeks ago I spoke to an acquaintance of mine who said that his friend was a veteran glass blower which I found practical as I'd have someone to talk to. The thing is that the person started to offer me his old equipment for filling oxygen because it's something that I'd need. Didn't remember the specific model he mentioned, but he seemed a bit too pushy for me to accept on the spot and I say I'd be calling him back. Do I really need this or is he just trying to get it off his hands?

It's possible he's genuinely offering something useful, but if he seemed pushy and you're unsure about the gear or its condition, don't rush...only take it if it fits your needs and setup

He might just be trying to pass along gear he no longer uses, especially if he was pushy. Most beginners dont need specialized oxygen equipment right away, basic safety gear and instruction are more important when you're starting out. Its worth doing a bit of research or asking an instructor before committing, so you know exactly what's actually necessary for getting started safely
