Safety precautions of using a lathe

New to using a lathe for glass blowing. Can anyone drop some tips and requirements for when I do this? What are the risks I should be aware of?

@sweet dreams are made of my tips are: Safety First, always wear didymium/shade 3 glasses. Good ventilation is key.
also slow & steady, do consistent rotation and even heating

You can start slow, keep the glass evenly heated, and wear protective gear, also watch for thermal shock and sharp edges..and yeah make sure your lathe's speed suits glasswork to avoid cracking or accidents
